Product Description and Principal Function(s)
Everglide is an integrated solution for short distance travel and personal effects management. The product operates as an infill mode of transport that seamlessly assimilates with other forms of public transport such as buses and trains, thereby promoting sustainable mobility habits.
Everglide has been designed as an active based device with three key functional attributes; having the ability to be wheeled, backpacked or cycled. The design houses a shaft drive mechanism which is light weight clean and compact. Hand held devices such as phones and ipod’s are able to be plugged in and regeneratively charged via frictionless magnetic dynamo technology.
E-paper makes a flexible display that consumes power only when updated. The design is inspired by a regular tourist map where you get good overview, good level of detail, and quick access combined with the advantages of GPS navigation.
Zaha Hadid’s design for the Dancing Towers confirms the role of Business Bay Development at the very forefront of Dubai’s rapidly changing future. The three towers rise above the creek and project themselves as an icon for the surrounding developments and for the gulf region.
The tower’s striking design creates a new presence that punctures the skyline with a powerful recognizable silhouette. The fluid character of the towers is generated through an intrinsically dynamic composition of volumes.
A model of a driverless bus is to go on display at the Science Museum in London. Its designers, Capoco systems, said the bus would use magnets embedded in the road to navigate the streets. A prototype of the futuristic bus is due next year.
