“sPult” Remote Control

The “sPult” channel surfer by Yurii Smitana Perfilov is probably one of the most simple and elegant designs. The sPult strips away all the occasional buttons we are used to seeing and delivers just the barest of essentials for making like a starchy root on a sofa.

The idea doesn’t account for the rise of this little invention called the zipper. But it appeals to me for the subtlety of integration with clothing.

It’s a soft electronic device designed to slip on anything with a button. It can be designed to compliment your outfit and style.

Antoine Lebrun and Volkan Akbiyik designed Pandora Alcantara, a stylish wall-mounted CD player that tries to keep up with today’s technologies by incorporating tilt sensing and touchscreens into the player. The remote control is a tilt sensing bar with a touchscreen that can be clipped to the wall mounted player when not in us. Leaving the bar vertical lets you control volume while the horizontal position lets you go thru tracks.

The Game Card remote enables you to control volume and change channels all via card playing like gestures. Sliding your thumb up and down in the center raises/lowers volume. Sliding the top card over a tad changes channel. Sliding it all the way takes you on a wild channel surf.
