Lite2go Lamp Clear

Lite2go is a new lighting system that eliminates packaging. The packaging itself becomes the shade for the energy saving light bulb and fixture contained within. It is designed to be versatile in use as either a pendant or a table lamp. Unlike other lamps, it includes the electric cord and light bulb so it is a one-step, ready-to-use solution. The lite2go offers surprise and elegance in a simple, low-cost.

Knoend’s Lite2go eliminates packaging waste by making the lamp shade itself the packaging.

Italian designer Luca Casarotto’s Penta pendant lamp was developed during a Foscarini Lab workshop. The lights intensity can be adjusted depending on your mood with sliding flat shades made from a recycled polyethylene.

The NewLight desk lamp has an integrated MP3 player. Although details are sparse, you can also load up audio books and have the lamp read to you while you fall asleep. Interesting concept. Perhaps the lamp light can slowly dim on its own at a preset time.

Turning Lamp is a PC mounted on a lamp base. It uses tactile interfaces people are familiar with when turning lamps on so a pull of a cord activates one of the 4 faces. Each face can display something different, i.e. - weather, news, email, music player, etc.

The light-emitting plastic that make up the airLUCE lamps gives the lamps a interesting shape and almost eerie glow.

For an art installation at the Swiss Cultural Center in Milan earlier this year, a Swiss-based architecture firm Atelier Oï planned to combine its interests in music and design to create a series of lamps that could be played like instruments.

For the first installation, in Milan, the challenge was to find the right sound for every lamp, which meant experimenting in our workshop with different lengths, weights, and grades of aluminum. It’s a bit like thinking with your hands rather than your head.

Each version comes in three sizes with a gold, bronze, or anthracite finish.

Simon Duff’s Mushroom floor lamp provides a sense of magical wonder in an otherwise ordinary living space. The Australian designer forwent psychedelic swirls and Grateful Dead bears for tastefully realistic form and color treatment. Mushrooms, illuminated by interchangeable and adjustable LEDs embedded in their gills, can be placed as single units or in clusters for a more fungified effect.

When is a paperclip not a paperclip? When it’s a LED lamp by Teague, of course. As the ubiquitous paperclip lends itself to being picked up and bent, the designers of this lamp, Ben Collette and David Wykes, applied the same tactile approach to the structure of the lamp. See the lamp flat on a table, why not bend it into shape?

this lampshade appears as a hovering mass of ornaments, opulent and bombastic. when viewed more closely it dissolves into single bodies, which are twisted in fear and seem to be frozen in mid-fall. their rhythmic order becomes slightly perplexing and finally renders the bodies an ornament. softly, the fleshy parts of the bodies, legs and stomachs reflect the light. because of the shadows the bodies cast on themselves, only parts of them appear in the foreground.

One of the most eye-catching designs we spotted at ICFF this year was Mixko’s 100% wool felt butterfly lamps called “Delight”. Inspired by nature, these truly delightful lamps are soft, playful, beautiful, and sustainable to boot due to their smart and efficient use of felt. When lit, the cut-out butterfly silhouettes cast playful shadows on the walls and ceiling.
