Jaambaaro pedal car

Jaambaaro pedal car » image 1

In many developing countries, ambulances aren’t readily available to bring injured people to medical centers. With that in mind, Benoit Angibaud designed the Jaambaaro, a pedal-powered ambulance that’s designed to help people in rural Africa transport the sick or injured to get medical attention.

The Jaambaaro is literally a pedal-car with a stretcher, driven by two persons pedaling and assisted by electrical power generated from solar energy. Made of salvaged materials, and will hopefully fuel the local economy through localized manufacturing, thus making this vehicle not only sustainable but also fun for the kids.

Loremo Car

Little weight – easy to move. Less weight – easier to move.

This simple physical principle, which we can experience with our own bodies on a daily basis, specially applies to sports cars. By ruthlessly exploiting this principle, thus reducing weight and air resistance, we succeeded in cutting the Loremo’s fuel consumption to just 2.0l/100km.

2025 Firetruck Concept - Harald Belker’s Futuristic Vision

2025 Firetruck Concept - Harald Belkers Futuristic Vision » image 1

Artist Harald Belker created this red racer as a piece of concept art for a Fahrenheit 451 feature film that was canceled after a few weeks of development. It’s a shame too, because we would have bought the toy version of this firetruck for sure. We just hope that all those rounded edges don’t mean they’ll be cutting corners when it comes to safety.

Land Rover LRX Concept

Land Rover LRX Concept » image 1

Land Rover unveils a vision of its future at the NAIAS (Detroit Show) in January 2008, with the world debut of the LRX concept - a bold evolution of Land Rover design that signals the brand’s shift into new areas of the market, while remaining true to its core values. As the company prepares to celebrate its 60th anniversary during 2008, the three-door LRX, with its more compact size, lighter weight and sustainability-focused technologies, clearly addresses the needs of a changing world.

“The LRX concept delivers the powerful message that we are as serious about sustainability as we are confident about the continuing relevance and desirability of our vehicles,” says Phil Popham, Land Rover’s managing director. “LRX is in every respect a Land Rover, but it’s a very different Land Rover.

Mini Solar-Powered Car

Mini Solar-Powered Car » image 1

Car is tiny, power source is very large

Solar cars are, unfortunately, still in the research and development phase, although we saw one recently that drove from Texas to New York in 5 days. Despite being impressive, it’ll likely be years before we have one sitting in the driveway, charging. Until then this working miniature model will have to keep us entertained.

Koenigsegg CCXR Special Edition with 1018HP

Koenigsegg CCXR Special Edition with 1018HP » image 1

There’s a new challenger packing the potential to topple Buggati’s Veyron as the world’s fastest car in the form of Koenigsegg’s new CCXR supercar. Details were first released about it back in March and now we have official renderings of the final production version.

As previously reported, the CCXR will be sporting a cast-aluminum V8 engine capable of running on biofuel. The burning of ethanol in biofuel has the positive side effect of cooling the combustion chambers. This combined with a higher octane rating provides the enviro-friendly supercar with 1,018hp at 7,200rpm and peak torque of 1,060Nm at 6,100rpm.
