MAG LEV Concept Car

MAG LEV Concept Car » image 1

This concept car is driven by an electric engine that generates a magnetic field capable of propelling the vehicle down the road! the MAG car would require that all automotive infrastructure be magnetized in order for it to work, a task well-neigh impossible for any large-scale implementation. However such a system would tremendously reduce the energy required to propel the car, as it’s electromagnetic motor would be calibrated to reduce the car’s weight by 50%.

Honda PUYO

Honda PUYO » image 1

Honda PUYO is a Japanese word that embodies the tactile traits of this unique car. Honda PUYO is meant to convey all that is warm and friendly, and put a smile on the face of users and pedestrians.

The PUYO, an environmentally friendly concept car designed by Honda, is just as green as it is, well, cute. The concept vehicle is ultra-efficient, powered by hydrogen fuel cell technology, and a unique aesthetic to boot. The Honda PUYO will officially be unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show at the end of the month.

Its shape was designed to be both as minimalist and as efficient as possible. Indeed, by far the most striking feature of this vehicle is the rather odd ’seamless soft box’ shape. The body of the vehicle is made of soft materials, which Honda refers to as a ‘gel body’. This body is meant to promote greater real-world safety. Furthermore, the gel body is of a luminescent nature, it lights up!

The Scorpion Eco-Exotic Car

The Scorpion Eco-Exotic Car » image 1

Blending the world of exotic cars with eco-friendly fuel solutions …

Austin-based automotive design and manufacturing company Ronn Motor’s has built the Scorpion; a hydrogen fuel injected hybrid.

The vehicle utilizes new ‘hydrogen on demand’ technology, which, simply put, generates water from the inbuilt tank, turns it into hydrogen and then injects this into the car’s system.

Not only does this approach allow fuel mileage to increase by between 20 to 40%, it also reduces carbon emissions to nearly zero. Couple this with its exclusive styling, and the Scorpion is sure to be a strong contender in the exotic performance car segment.

Mazda presents yet another concept car. This time it’s called Kazamai which means “swirling crosswinds” in Japanese. The concept is based on Mazda’s long-term vision for technology development, Sustainable Zoom-Zoom, which aims to provide a unique balance between sporty driving fun and superior environmental and safety performance. Kazamai will be joined at MIAS by the Russian debut of Mazda’s CX-9 SUV, which was crowned 2008 North American Truck of the Year in February.

Human-Powered River Gymnasiums

Human-Powered River Gymnasiums » image 2

The River Gym concept is a human-powered floating gym that will provide the user with the one experience that no other gym can provide: floating your workout around Manhattan. Designed by architect Mitchell Joachim and personal trainer Douglas Joachim, this project could bring inspiration to both the morning commute and workout.

The concept is actually quite simple - harness all that human locomotion into energy to propel vessels along the Hudson and East Rivers, to several points across the city.

Jaambaaro pedal car

Jaambaaro pedal car » image 1

In many developing countries, ambulances aren’t readily available to bring injured people to medical centers. With that in mind, Benoit Angibaud designed the Jaambaaro, a pedal-powered ambulance that’s designed to help people in rural Africa transport the sick or injured to get medical attention.

The Jaambaaro is literally a pedal-car with a stretcher, driven by two persons pedaling and assisted by electrical power generated from solar energy. Made of salvaged materials, and will hopefully fuel the local economy through localized manufacturing, thus making this vehicle not only sustainable but also fun for the kids.

With the rise of environmental issues and a willingness to find solutions to relieve congestion on our city centres, designer planchent increasingly on the development of auxiliary folding bikes, with varying degrees of success. You might have seen foldable bicycles that can be stored away nicely, but I bet you haven’t thought of a backpack bike.

Murciélago LP640 Roadster

Murciélago LP640 Roadster » image 10

Lamborghini have extended their partnership with Versace by releasing a Versace edition Murciélago LP640 Roadster. The Lamborghini Versace edition Murciélago LP640 Roadster is very similar to the previous Versace edition Murciélago LP640 but is of course a roadster and features the signature Versace Greek Key motif on the front bumper and the lower part of the doors. The interior is black and white nappa leather and also features the Greek Key Motif embossed into the seats

This machine is HOT! It has a certain raw sex appeal that only two sets of Italians can deliver. Versace tastefully applied their signature Versace Greek Key motif in all the right places making for a nearly perfect marriage of the Capulets and the Montagues, let’s hope no one dies this time around.
