Panasonic’s DMC-FX500

Panasonics DMC-FX500 » image 1

Panasonic DMC-FX500 shoots 720p video and 10 megapixel stills just like its Korean competitor only with a 5x, 25-mm wide-angle Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens instead of the 24-mm 3.6x zoomer found on the Sammy. Oh, and it brings a bigger 3.0-inch touchscreen too. With the unit already making its way out the door in the US for about $400.

Red’s Scarlet 3K Hero Camera

Reds Scarlet 3K Hero Camera » image 1

Red’s Scarlet - the camera of my dreams…

It has 3k resolution (for reference that largest dark grey rect. is 1080p) - is tiny… gorgeous…

The teensy 3K resolution camcorder is based on a 2 / 3-inch Mysterium X sensor, can shoot at 1 to 120 FPS and records to dual CompactFlash cards, which can handle up to 100MB per second of REDCODE RAW HD video. You can preview your shot on the 4.8-inch LCD, and there’s a 8x RED zoom lens included. HMDI, HD-SDI, FireWire 800 and USB 2.0 inputs are built in, and the device is compatible with “many” RED ONE accessories. WiFi control is also included.” - and it has still mode too!

Rolleiflex MiniDigi AF 5.0

Rolleiflex MiniDigi AF 5.0 » image 1

Very cool digital camera from Rolleiflex, awesome classic styling. The MiniDigi AF 5.0 is a three-inch high, fully functional digicam replica of the original classic twin reflex camera.

Rolleiflex introduced the original MiniDigi in 2006, but it quickly sold out. The new MiniDigi AF 5.0, which is is available with a red or black casing, has been given some significant performance upgrades, including a 5 MB image file from a 3MP CMOS sensor, autofocus, and a very clear 1.1 inch TFT monitor, located at the top of the camera as it is on the full-sized Rolleiflex TLR.

Digital cameras will continue to get smaller and smaller so long as technology successfully miniaturizes high quality optics. The Canon Snap concept is a look into what a future device might look like. The Snap is tiny enough to wear on your finger yet powerful enough to give today’s bigger cameras a run for their money. The single button interface makes it easy to take a picture at a whim’s moment. perfect for your stalker tendencies.
