
52 German design students had their work assignment cut out for them when they were asked to create The Third Space. They were assigned to create a temporary structure which fulfilled certain criteria.
The sculpture is made up of 1.3 million humble cable ties forming a little nest suspended from a cable tie net above. Judiciously placed lighting give this sculpture a glow as if one is inside the bowels of some strange creature.

The result is nothing short of amazing. Visitors are invited to explore the surreal landscape of cocoons, webs and light called “The Third Space” that took a staggering 16,870 hours to complete.
