While air travel is still in a dreadful state, at least progress is being attempted in the area of design.
Giving you the Future of a Modern World, we present our latest product the ‘Cozy Suite’. Designed by Thompson Solutions, Delta Air Lines plans to place the “fixed cocoons” in its Boeing 777 and 767 economy classes by 2010. With the seats’ staggered arrangement, the design not only keeps that person next to you out of your face, you also end up with a comfy place to rest your weary head.

You can also recline without smacking into that unfortunate soul behind you, and there’s a footrest along with an extra 2 inches of legroom. Another major advantage: the passenger in the window seat can get to the aisle without the other two getting up.

The Cozy Suite can be installed from 31″ to 38″ pitch. The patented tip-up seat pan has made seat access much easier than seats installed at the same pitch. The patented seat recline which slides down and forward, reclines you to your perfect lounging position. This all happens inside your own fixed cocoon. The seat’s has a fixed backshell, which does not recline into the person behind. This positions you into your very own area, with its contoured shoulder area specifically profiled for you to sleep.

With most airline seat innovations being made for higher-paying Business- and First-Class customers, it’s a surprise that Delta will reportedly begin installing the seats in their Economy sections by 2010.
