This steampunk mouse was made by modder Unklian. As you can see it’s got all the requisite copper and wood flair. But one thing it has that you don’t always see in steampunk designs — a steam producing furnace! When connected to the computer the mouse’s orange LEDs light up to give the coal a nice fiery glow.

Steampunk: Brass and wood machines modeled on an imaginary Victorian aesthetic. But for Steampunk to be real steampunk, you need some heat. That’s just what hacker Unklian has done with his Steampunk Furnace Mouse. This two-button controller with scroll wheel incorporates a fake coal fired furnace, although in reality it still runs on USB power.

The coals are broken glass, rolled in and glued with black silicone sealant. The fire is provided by LEDs under plastic sheeting and the body is, of course, hand made from wood and brass off-cuts. This is the second version. MkI was a little too hacked together and the unmeasured parts made for an ergonomically-challenged ergonomic experience.
